PFAS Testing Report

GRAY WATER TESTED FOR PFAS – PFAS (perfluorinated alkyl acids) Test Results March 2020

With all the talk about perfluorinated alkyl acids (PFAS) these days, Gray Water District (GWD) commissioned the engineering firm of Sevee and Maher to test our source wells and determine if there were any concerns regarding PFAS. Testing was done in March of 2020 and we are pleased to report there were no significant PFAAS issues with our water sources. The Sevee and Maher firm concluded: “Based on these PFAS sampling results, GWD is currently providing water to its customers that meets all health advisory levels relative to PFAS compounds (less than 70 ng/l total PFAAS).” It is important to note that PFAS testing is not required (at least, not yet). GWD Trustees determined it is in everyone’s best interests to know where we stand right now, to see if any immediate actions are necessary, and to establish a data baseline for future testing on a regular basis. GWD is committed to keeping our customers and community informed about PFAS and will periodically provide updates through our website.
