Phase two of the project was started with the installation of temporary service to all affected homes. Attempts to shut down the main for replacement were unsuccessful.due to apparent inaccuracies in the historical records. In spite of the best efforts of the water district and design engineers the problem could not be resolved. The only option left is to dig up the existing system and determine actual locations, functions and conditions. This exploratory work will take several weeks and will stretch the project into the Fall and cold weather. Accordingly, phase two construction has been halted. The above ground temporary feed will be removed and homes returned to their original service lines. The project will need to be redesigned based on accurate records and rebid, potentially in 2027. This setback has been challenging and disappointing for everyone involved. Gray Water District sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding all who were inconvenienced by this important project, especially those whose homes and daily living were directly impacted.
